Editorial Guidelines
Last Updated: August 28, 2025
At All Cities Asphalt Paving, we believe homeowners make the best decisions when they have honest, local, experience-based information. Whether you’re dealing with a gravel driveway, sinking asphalt, or standing water near your foundation, you deserve advice that’s as solid as the work we do.
Every article, guide, and resource we publish is built on firsthand experience from the field and a long-standing commitment to helping homeowners in Snohomish and King Counties maintain safe, functional, and attractive driveways.
Our Purpose for Sharing Knowledge
We’re more than just a paving crew. We’re part of the communities we serve—working face-to-face with our neighbors and standing behind every job. Our content is an extension of that same commitment.
We create and share content to:
- Help you understand your options when it comes to asphalt, grading, and repairs
- Set clear expectations for cost, timelines, and maintenance
- Prevent future issues through education and practical tips
- Demystify the driveway paving process so you know exactly what you’re getting
How We Create Our Content
Every article on our website follows a process designed to ensure accuracy, transparency, and practical value for local homeowners.
Topic Selection
We focus on issues that matter most to people in our area—like converting from gravel to asphalt, dealing with drainage problems, repairing cracks or potholes, planning driveway replacements, and navigating HOAs or weather-related wear. Topics are chosen based on seasonality, customer questions, and real job-site insights.
Writing and Review
Our content is created with input from Will (the owner, aka “the asphalt dude”) and our experienced team. We don’t publish generic filler—we share what we know from years of doing this work ourselves.
Final Approval
Before anything goes live, it’s reviewed to ensure it reflects our process, aligns with current best practices, and is genuinely helpful. We hold content to the same standard we hold our driveways: long-lasting and worth the investment.
Topics We Cover
We focus on practical, location-specific guidance, including:
- New asphalt driveway installation (especially gravel-to-asphalt conversions)
- Crack filling, patching, and pothole repair
- Grading and drainage correction
- What to expect during the paving process
- Driveway maintenance and seasonal care
- Warranty information and long-term value
- Real project stories from Lake Stevens, Everett, Kirkland, and nearby areas
- Local considerations like soil, slope, and freeze/thaw conditions
Maintaining Current Information
Washington’s weather changes. So do building codes, paving techniques, and product quality. We routinely review and update our articles to reflect current conditions, tools, and homeowner concerns. When information becomes outdated, we fix it.
Our Voice and Approach
We write how we work—with care, clarity, and no pressure.
- Plainspoken and approachable – No fancy jargon or filler
- Honest and transparent – No scare tactics, no gimmicks
- Experienced and local – Every word reflects our time in the field
- Solution-focused – Our goal is to empower, not sell
When we explain something, it’s because we want you to feel confident—whether you hire us or not.
Ethics and Standards
We treat every job—and every article—the same way:
- We don’t recommend work unless it’s necessary
- We always present honest pros and cons, including when to wait or do nothing
- We won’t overstate problems or urgency just to land a job
- We acknowledge when a concern falls outside our scope and refer to trusted pros when needed
- We never speak negatively about other paving contractors
Your Feedback Matters
If you notice outdated information, have a question we haven’t answered, or want to suggest a topic, we want to hear from you. Email us anytime at info@allcitiesasphaltpaving.com and we’ll respond as soon as we can.
Our Commitment
All Cities Asphalt Paving is built on referrals, repeat customers, and doing things right the first time. These editorial guidelines are one more way we back that up—by making sure the information we share is just as reliable as the driveways we build.
Whether you’re preparing for your first paving project or just want to understand your options, we’re here to help with honest advice and real-world experience.
